Nachdem wir auf dem Hinflug das Kolosseum<\/a> besucht hatten, entschieden wir uns diesmal daf\u00fcr den Petersplatz anzuschauen und den L\u00e4nderpunkt Vatikan zu machen. Wieder hatten wir acht Stunden Aufenthalt in Rom und nat\u00fcrlich fuhren wir mit dem sch\u00f6nen Leonardo Express bis Termini. Von dort ging es weiter mit der U-Bahn zur Station Ottoviano und ein paar Minuten zu Fu\u00df bis zum Vatikan. Es war wieder sehr hei\u00df, obwohl es erst 8 Uhr morgens war. Aber schon ein paar Schritte brachten einen zum Schwitzen. Wie wir schon von weitem sahen, war es bereits brechend voll und die Schlange um in den Petersdom zu kommen sehr lang. Also entschieden wir uns dazu nur den Platz anzuschauen – der auch sehr beeindruckend ist- und zum deutschen Friedhof zu gehen. Direkt links des S\u00e4ulengangs befindet sich der Eingang, bewacht von Schweizer Gardisten. Denen muss man auf Deutsch sagen, das man Einlass zu dem Friedhof haben m\u00f6chte und kann dann durchgehen. Ein Privileg, dass nur wenige haben. Leider erfuhren wir, dass er an diesem Tag geschlossen sei. Schade.<\/p>\n

Nochmals den gleichen Weg zur\u00fcck wollten wir nicht nehmen, daher gingen wir zu Fu\u00df zum Vatikanischen Bahnhof bis zur Via de Porta Cavalleggeri. Wir hatten inzwischen Hunger und a\u00dfen in einem kleinen Restaurant direkt an der Stra\u00dfe. Sehr angenehm: Keine versteckten Kosten, wie es so oft in Italien \u00fcblich ist und das Essen war auch in Ordnung.<\/p>\n

Frisch gest\u00e4rkt sind wir dann an der Engelsburg vorbei und \u00fcber den Tiber und die Via dei Coronari gelaufen. Diese kleine Gasse ist ebenfalls ein Muss in Rom, f\u00fchrt sie doch zur\u00a0Piazza Navona und weiter zum Trevi Brunnen. Jedes Haus f\u00fcr sich w\u00e4re ein Foto wert – einfach toll!<\/p>\n

Der Trevi Brunnen wird derzeit renoviert und so konnten wir nur ein Bauger\u00fcst sehen. Ein Grund mehr noch einmal in die Stadt zu kommen.<\/p>\n

Schlie\u00dflich kamen wir an der Piazza Barberini an, a\u00dfen noch ein leckeres Eis am Brunnen und fuhren schlie\u00dflich mit Metro und Bahn zur\u00fcck zum Flughafen. Denn auch eine sch\u00f6ne Reise geht mal zu Ende und der R\u00fcckflug nach Frankfurt stand an.<\/p>\n
