Im Januar ist das Wetter in Katar sehr angenehm. Um die 20 Grad, trocken und viel Sonne laden ein etwas zu unternehmen. Also fuhr ich mit dem Auto in Richtung Norden. In der W\u00fcste traf ich auf ein paar Ruinen, in denen ich von einem Igel \u00fcberrascht wurde. Damit h\u00e4tte ich hier nicht gerechnet. Aber es gibt tats\u00e4chlich einige Igelarten, die W\u00fcstenbewohner sind.<\/p>\n

Weiter ging es an Str\u00e4nde der Nordk\u00fcste, die aber meist belegt waren von Campern.<\/p>\n

Besonders gut hat mir der kleine Ort Al Thakira, ein wenig n\u00f6rdlich von Al Khor gefallen. Hier gibt es nicht nur sch\u00f6ne Str\u00e4nde, sondern auch Mangrovenw\u00e4lder, die man per Kayak erkunden kann. Eine Tour kostet um die 200 Ryial.<\/p>\n

Sehenswert sind aber auch die Sumpflandschaften und Purple Island.<\/p>\n

Auf dem R\u00fcckweg kam ich am Lusail Stadium vorbei, das anl\u00e4sslich der Handball Weltmeisterschaft erbaut wurde und sehr futuristisch in der Landschaft steht.<\/p>\n

Abends bin ich schlie\u00dflich noch ins Katara Cultural Village gefahren, dass in der N\u00e4he von Pearl Qatar liegt und einem traditionellen Dorf nachempfunden ist. Hier gibt es viele Restaurants und Gallerien. Mittelpunkt ist ein gro\u00dfes Amphitheater, in dem auch schon Aida aufgef\u00fchrt wurde.<\/p>\n

Vieles wird hier noch gebaut, aber es ist definitiv einen Ausflug wert.<\/p>\n
